Paris Saint-German goalkeeper, Gianluigi Buffon has named fellow teammate, Kylian Mbappe as the player that should take home this year Ballon d'or award ahead of other contenders.
Buffon, described the World Cup winner as a phenomenon player who deserves to win the biggest individual prize in the world of football.
"Mbappe is a phenomenon," Bufon told Frend TV show, Tout Le Sports.
"In Italy they compare him to (Roberto) Baggio, (Francesco) Totti, ( Alessandro) Del Piero, but he has talent and technical qualities that i've rarely seen in my career.
"For his qualities, what he does on the pitch and how decisive he was at the World Cup he deserves it the Ballon d'or. I can't say the opposite".
In addition he added, "If he wants to be the best, if he retains his enthusiasm and continues to behave normally, then he can become that and stay the best for a long time".
Ronaldo and Messi have both won the prize five times with Ronaldo equalling messi last year.
